It's about that time.....

Hi Everyone
-
I was recently reviewing my calendar and looking ahead to some of the great things that we have planned for this coming year. Mix that in with some of the wonderful ideas that our leadership is researching and looking into, and I realized that I had not reminded everyone how proud I am to be serving here at Trinity. This is truly a special congregation with a proud history and, I believe, a fantastic future!
I would also like to put in a plug for some of the wonderful things going on over at our school. Earlier today our 1st Grade Teacher, Mrs. Holly Knight was recognized by the Monett Times as the December 2010 Teacher of the Month. And last night our Lady White Knights won a nail-biter against Springfield Lutheran School. They really hung in there and fought hard for a well-deserved win. And over the past few weeks I have also observed firsthand some students that have shown some tremendous growth in their academic, personal, and spiritual lives.
Well, I should probably sign off for now before this becomes as long as one of my sermons
. Stay safe over the next few days, its sound as if another round of winter weather is heading our way.
Take care, God's Blessings, and I look forward to seeing all you this coming Sunday - if not before
.
Humbly Serving as your Pastor,
Pastor B

Let's Keep It Going....

Hi Everyone
Trying to build on my "Green Letter" that you all should have received, either in a bulletin a couple of weeks ago, or the most recent Parish Caller, I think 2011 is off to a really good start!
Even though I started the year off with the flu bug, this gave two of our Elder's an opportunity to step up to the plate and show just how truly blessed we are to have the Board of Elder's that we do! They did a great job last Sunday. And I am truly grateful that they were able to step in and fill in during my illness. We followed that up by having a wonderful Elder's Meeting this past week.
The 2nd Semester started over at Trinity Lutheran School, and the 7th & 8th Graders will now be immresed with Catechism-related work leading up to Confirmation for some of them this coming April.
This morning we had the opprotunity to gather together around God's Word and be fed by His precious Gospel! And tonight we had a really good Church Council meeting.
As far as I am concerned, things here at Trinity are going really well right now.....and I believe we are getting ready for some great things to start happening here at Trinity. The question is, how can and will you help?
That is something everyone must ask & answer for themselves. However, I would like to make a suggestion.....let's start with encouraging one another to come to God's House to worship on a regular basis.
I will leave you with these words for the 10th Chapter of Hebrews: " Let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Insead, let us cheer each other up with words of hope. Let us do it all the more as you see the day coming when Christ will return." (Hebrews 10:25)
Take care, God's Blessings, and see you all next Sunday in Church....if not before
Gladly Serving as your Shepherd,
Pastor B
