Are You Ready?!?!?
Hi Everyone -
So...here we are, just days from celebrating the birth of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ!! Are you ready?!?! Or, are you still focused on shopping, baking, wrapping, and Christmas - or "holiday" - cards?
I would like to encourage you to take some time over the next few days and reflect on what Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are all about.....not only would it be good for you spiritually, it might even help you feel a little less stressed
.
Take care & God's Blessings!! I truly hope to see all of you here on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day!!
In HIS Service,
Pastor B

Are You Ready?

Hi Everybody
-
The closer we get to Christmas the more it seems we get asked, "Are you ready for Christmas?" Or, "Are you finished with your Christmas shopping?" Or, "Do you have your Christmas Cards sent out?" The latter two questions really stem from the first question, "Are you ready....?" But shouldn't we really be focused on celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ?? We get so focused on trying to top last Christmas by throwing the best "Holiday" Party or giving/getting the most &/or most expensive gifts. Our focus should be on being ready to celebrate the ultimate gift given approximately 2000+ years ago.
I have a couple of ideas for some posts in the near future, but I need to see how the rest of December unfolds. So, as usual, stay tuned!!!
And last, but not least, it is time to sound like a broken record
. I continue to feel blessed to be serving as the Pastor here at Trinity!! The congregation has kept me busy - but for the most part, it has been a good type of busy. I am hoping and praying that the Lord of the Church sees fit to keep me here for many years to come!!
Take care, God's Blessings, and hope to see you on Wednesday for our Mid-Week Advent Dinner and Church Service!!!
In HIS Service,
Pastor B

Today's Epistle Lesson

Hi Everyone
-
Alright, it's broken record time. You know, those records that are broke and keep repeating the same thing over and over and over again.....
Did you happen to catch St. Paul's opening words to the church in Philippi that were included in today's Epistle Reading?? "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now."
I continue to feel fortunate to be here to serve as Trinity's 12th Pastor, and I also now how blessed I have been over the last approximately fifteen (15) months. I know that I am far from perfect, and am thankful that you have been as gracious as you have been as I continue to grow as one of Christ's undershepherds!
Alright....time to stop being sentimental
.
As we continue to go through this Advent Season I would like to remind you all of the extra worship opportunities in the next few weeks. We have two more Mid-Week Advent services the next couple of Wednesdays - both preceded by a delicious LYF Dinner. Then we have a 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Service hosted by Trinity Lutheran School, a 10:00 a.m. Christmas Day Service, and then we finish out 2009 with a New Year's Eve Service.
Take care, God's Blessings, and hope to see you all in Church as often as possible over the next few weeks!!
In HIS Service,
Pastor B
