Trinity Lutheran Church and School

Hi Everyone -

First, I would like to apologize for not updating this blog as often as I have in the past.   I hope to do a better job in the near future.  So, please stay tuned.

Secondly,  many congratulations going to the Mt. Vernon Mt'neers guys & gals basketball teams on a truly fantastic season.  The guys came in 4th place in the entire state.  And the ladies came in 1st!  Way to go!!

And last, but certainly not least,  since this past Sunday evening there has been alot a concern and anxiety going around regarding the Health Care "Reform" that has now become law.   I believe that those concerns are very much justified. Despite what some think, not all "change"/Reform is good.  However, despite the concerns that a great majority of us share regarding recent political events, and despite what we might think of certain people in office,  I would like to reassure all of you of a few things about the future:

1)  The Bible will still have all the answers.

2)  Prayer will still work.

3)  The Holy Spirit will still be working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

4)  God will still inhabit the praises of His people.

5)  There will still be God-anointed preaching of His Holy Word.

6)  There will still be singing of praise & thanksgiving to God.

7)  God will continue to pour out His blessings on His people.

8)  There will still be room for us at the Cross.

9)   Jesus will still love you.

10) Jesus will still save the lost.

Isn't it great to know that the one true Triune God is still in control?!?!

Hi Everyone!!

This morning we had a fantastic finish to National Lutheran School's Week! Our All-School Choir doing a fantastic job of singing Amazing Grace....which tied in wonderfully with the theme for this 2009 - 2010 School Year: GRACE - God's Riches At Christ's Expense!

Plus lots of congratulations going to both the Girl's & Boy's basketball  teams from Mt. Vernon.  They are going to the Final Four in Columbia!!  And part of what makes it so special is that there are Trinity Lutheran School Alumni on BOTH teams!!!

Hi Everyone -

I must confess that I am very excited about two upcoming special events here at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistatt.

First, on Maundy Thursday, 01 April 2010 at 7:30 p.m.  we will have our  ' 1st Annual Living Last Supper.'    Many of you are famailar with Leonardo Da Vinci's famous 'Last Supper' painting.  Well, on Maundy Thursday that painting will come to life as the twelve disciples take turns pondering "Is it I" in response to Jesus' news that one of them will betray him.

The second special event comes on Friday, 09 April 2010, also at 7:30 p.m.  when the choir from Lutheran High School North in St. Louis is here to perform.     The are excited about coming to Trinity to perform for us.    However, we will need some help hosting.   Sooo, if you are interest in hosting a couple of Lutheran High School kids from St. Louis,  please call June and have her add your name to the list!!!
