A Challenge, of sorts, plus....

Hi Everyone -

1) I'd like to Thank Betty Sawyer for the kind words!!   But I cannot take the credit......this is Christ's church,  I'm just his "under-shepherd" / "tool."     And I agree, it is nice to see our heavenly Father enlargening HIS Church through the blessings of Baptism.   And, to be honest, that is one of my favorite parts of the this "job" / "Calling."  But God gets all of the credit....see 1 Corinthians 3:6.

2) I pray that this message finds you all having a relaxing & safe summer.  But I alsoI hope you have all seen the new phrase on the sign out front,  "Visitors Welcome,   Members Expected."     Thankfully, for us,  our good & gracious God never goes on vacation from watching over us.

3) And now,  it is time once again for me to sound like a broken record,  I would like to remind you all that I am still enjoying serving here at Trinity.   I really believe we have a fantastic congregation.   It is soooo nice to be at a solidly Lutheran congregation.

4) Prayer request : Please keep our Convention Delegates in your prayers.   The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod meets every three years "in Convention."     Well, as many of you already know,  the next Convention starts in a little less than three weeks.  And there are some VERY BIG decisions to be made.   From what I have observed, learned, and read over the last eight, almost nine, years of ministry, all under President Gerald  Kieschnick's "leadership"  I have watched our beloved Synod go down a very dangerous road.    And his re-election, combined with the potential changes encouraged by his Blue Ribbon Task Force, would not only continue us going down a very bad road, but would actually accelerate it!!

So,  please, please pray that the Lord of the Church help guide the delegates to vote AGAINST the recommendations of President Kieschnick's Blue Ribbon Task Force,  and also to elect a new Synodical President in the person of Rev. Matthew Harrison!!

Take care, God's Blessings, and stay cool in the early summer heat wave!!

Time flies....

Hi Everyone -

Greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ!!

I pray this message finds you relaxing during these early days of summer.

I am hoping that many of you have heard the phrase, "Time flies when you are having fun."  Well, I think that can be true in most cases.   I, for one, cannot believe that we are already in June!   It's been approximately a month since we celebrated with our 8th Graders as they graduated, and it has been about three weeks since school officially got out.   On a personal note, I can't believe that this was already my second graduation here at Trinity, Freistatt!   Again....time flies when you are having fun.   As many of you might know, I thoroughly enjoy working with, and spending time with, the students at our school.  I know that I still have alot of learning to do when it comes to teaching....but I'm working on it!

Changing topics, we have also been blessed with a large number of baptisms this year!  We had a total of nine (9) baptisms all of last year (2009).  Well, through the first five months of 2010 we have already had fourteen (14) baptisms!  Plus, we have at least three more "in the works."   Sooo, there is the possibility that we just might double the number of baptisms that we had last year!  We truly have a good and gracious God!!

Well, it is time to sign off.   God's blessings as we continue through this month of June!

Humbly Serving as Trinity's Pastor,
Pastor B
